Step 4. Install WordPress on your hosting

Now, when you already have your domain and hosting, you can come to the next step and install WordPress to your cPanel.

Why choose WordPress

WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS). It started as a blogging platform and has evolved into universal multipurpose CMS. Nowadays it is one of the most popular platforms for online stores.

Why millions of people all over the world choose WordPress (WP) for their websites’ development? It is free, easy to install and it features an attractive user-friendly interface. You can create any kind of website with it. It is highly SEO friendly. It supports multimedia. It can be easily integrated with various applications and services. It has high-security standard. The list goes on.

So, the next step for a dropshipping newcomer is to install WP on the hosting.

Before installation, first, visit official Download Page on WordPress.org and download WordPress from here.

Why WordPress.org is better than WordPress.com

WordPress shouldn’t be confused with WordPress.com.

It is 100% free

The software downloaded from WordPress.org is completely free, there are no hidden payments. While a free plan offered by WordPress.com does not allow you anything – no custom domain, no plugins, no analytics, no SEO, nothing at all. A plan suitable for small business on WordPress.com will cost you $25 per month.

It is flexible

WordPress.org keeps options to install or download any plugins and themes. Lots of free and paid plugins including AliDropship plugin are built for WordPress.org CMS and can’t be used with WordPress.com platform. You can customize your website made on WP.org to your own free choice. It gives your website much greater potential than with WordPress.com.

You own your content

WordPress.com owns all content you’re posting there. If they want to, they can shut it down. Doesn’t sound great, right? In comparison, on a self-hosted WordPress.org you own all your content. You don’t need any permission even to sell it as a website.
